Business Services Representative
Role:
The Business Services Representative is a financial professional whose role is to develop and manage relationships with business clients providing them with financial products and services. This position provides first rate member service, is accountable for meeting monthly goals, as well as seeking ongoing cross sell opportunities.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Business member interaction: Actively engage with members in-person and via phone to understand their financial goals and needs.
Assisting business members: Helping members with a variety of banking needs, such as opening new business accounts, educating the business members on products and services, and demonstrating how to use mobile and digital banking.
Processing applications: Processing applications and verifying account details.
Providing guidance: Offering sound guidance on money management principles to help members achieve their goals.
Product cross-selling: Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional First Service products like loans, credit cards, and wealth management services based on members needs.
Financial advice: Provide basic financial guidance and recommendations to members regarding their banking needs. Must be knowledgeable on all products and services offered by FSCU.
Problem resolution: Address members concerns and resolve issues promptly.
Relationship building: Develop and maintain long-term relationships with members through regular check-ins and proactive outreach.
Sales goals: Achieve individual sales targets for new accounts and cross-selling initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
1. Uphold First Service culture, which includes the First Service Compass, quality standards, traits, and behaviors.
2. Is knowledgeable on the features and benefits of all Credit Union products and services; determines member needs and recommends products and services based on those needs.
3. Listens to the members financial needs, identifies opportunities for consultative selling and actively sells products and services to the members.
4. Possess complete and accurate knowledge of all credit union products, services, policies and procedures.
5. Refer and cross-sell credit union products and services in order to meet member needs and individual goals.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education: (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills: Compliance awareness and adherence to regulations Proficiency with computer systems and banking software.
